Fixed
- A shortcut bound to a chord macOS's Screenshot service holds is now marked in Settings, with a note pointing at the button that frees it. Before this it looked set and did nothing when pressed.
- Removed a warning that claimed another app had taken one of your shortcuts. macOS shares a shortcut between every app that asks for it, so nothing can take one from Wacdum, and the warning could never appear.
Wacdum no longer shows a shortcut that cannot fire.
Improved
- Changing macOS's screenshot shortcuts reads the current settings first, so a change you made elsewhere is never written over.
Fixed
- If ⇧⌘3, ⇧⌘4 or ⇧⌘5 are switched back on for macOS somewhere else, by Restore Defaults in System Settings for instance, Wacdum now steps aside and returns to its ⌥ variants. Before this it kept showing them as set while pressing them did nothing.
Custom shortcuts record properly, Wacdum stays out of the way while you capture, and it tells you when something has gone wrong instead of failing quietly.
New
- Settings can free up macOS's own ⇧⌘3, ⇧⌘4 and ⇧⌘5 in one click, and hand them back just as easily. Wacdum shows which of the five macOS is holding, read from the system rather than guessed.
- Freed chords are assigned to the matching Wacdum command straight away, so ⇧⌘4 takes a Wacdum region shot the moment macOS lets go of it. Give them back and Wacdum returns to its ⌥ variants. A shortcut you chose yourself is never overwritten.
- The menu bar and the capture panel now tell you when the cloud cannot take a capture, and why: not signed in, no plan yet, out of space, a payment that did not go through, or simply no internet. Each one comes with the button that fixes it.
- A full URL scheme, so Shortcuts, Raycast, Alfred, Keyboard Maestro, Stream Deck or a shell script can drive Wacdum. Twenty two commands, each one able to say what happens to the capture: copy, save, annotate, upload or pin.
- Restore Last Closed Card is in the menu bar, under Record GIF, where you look when you have just dismissed a capture by mistake.
Improved
- The shortcut field now shows your modifiers as you hold them, so you can see it is listening. Press a key with no modifier and it says which one is missing rather than only beeping.
- A capture that cannot be uploaded is saved to the folder you chose, not to the Desktop, and the message says where it went.
- Link domain is now called Sharing domain in Settings, which is what it actually does.
Fixed
- Custom shortcuts can be set again. Recording a shortcut now captures the keys you press instead of firing whichever Wacdum command was already bound to them.
- Wacdum no longer jumps in front when you start a capture. Settings and the annotation editor stay exactly where they were, which also means you can now screenshot Wacdum's own windows.
- Failures that used to happen in silence now say so: a save that could not be written, a camera bubble that could not start, a macOS recording Wacdum could not pick up, a Launch at Login switch macOS refused, and a share link whose preview image did not upload.
Screen Recording is asked for once, and granting it just works.
Improved
- If macOS needs Wacdum to restart before it can record, Wacdum offers to restart itself instead of asking you to quit and reopen it.
- Removed the permissions checklist from Settings. It reported the wrong status and made a working install look broken.
- The installer now has a proper window: drag Wacdum across to Applications.
Fixed
- Wacdum no longer asks for Screen Recording access over and over. It asks once, and if you have already granted it, it never asks again.
- Granting access now takes effect immediately. Wacdum notices the moment you flip the switch and carries on with the capture you were trying to take.

Security
- Signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without warnings. Updates are verified with a signing key before they are installed.
